CLARK, NJ – Prior to the Arthur L. Johnson High School Crusaders boys varsity basketball game Tuesday the senior players and senior cheerleaders were honored for their hard work and dedication to their programs.
The senior basketball players honored were George Visconti, Joe DiProfio, Jeff Drajin and Ross Wildes. Senior managers Juliana Venezio and Kayla Dias were also recognized during the ceremony.
“You look at the growth and how much better they’ve gotten year-in and year-out and how hard they played for you,” Johnson head coach Dave Kennedy said. “When you get guys who play hard, that’s the tall tale and the compliment for a coach.”
The players were each recognized with their families on the court. Several shared their thoughts about being a part of this team.
One shared his love for the team and his enthusiasm for the sport.
“To me, it’s been everything,” DiProfio said of his career with the boys varsity basketball program. “I love the guys on the team, especially being good all four years. It’s my favorite sport; I have a passion for it. I couldn’t have asked to spend it any better.”
Senior cheerleaders were also recognized at the game including Emily DeLima, Chloe Hessler, Shannon Lavan, Kelsey Marques, Adriana Palmucci, Athena Petronella, Marissa Petronella, Amanda Pratt, Samantha Tavares and Gina Telesco.
