Johnson Crusaders Varsity Football Crushes Governor Livingston HS on Senior Night

CLARK, NJ- The Arthur L. Johnson High School Crusaders varsity football team honored their 2017 football seniors, along with the band members and cheerleaders in a pregame ceremony prior to their game Friday night against the Governor Livingston High School Highlanders.

Co-captains Joe Turek and Tommy Bowen, Lorenzo De Paz, Jordan Fedak, Mike Bruno, Mike Casalino, Kevin Metz, Brandon Rapp, Joe Santangelo, Eddie Weingartner, James Greenbush, Dan Olenick, Andrew Giamella and Ryan Spallone were recognized for their hard work and dedication over the years as a part of the football program.

“Every senior group brings something special to the table,” Johnson head coach Anthony DelConte said. “From year-in and year-out, the guys bring something unique and different to the table. This group continues this tradition of Crusader pride and I just feel that it’s been passed down.”

“The guys have done a tremendous job passing it down, carrying that tradition along and keeping it lit,” he added.

The common theme as the Crusaders described their football careers was the close friendships they have developed from their years of playing Pop Warner football to high school.

The Crusaders took the field with an overwhelming first half performance, scored 34 points in the first 24 minutes of action and stormed past the Highlanders by a final score of 41-6 Friday night in Clark.
