UNION, NJ- The Governor Livingston Highlanders varsity ice hockey team honored their 2018 seniors with a pregame ceremony for their hard work and dedication towards the program.
Co-captains Brian Gray and Kyle Wahlers, Alex Etterman, Greg Fetter, Michael Stewart, Aidan Gallagher, Billy Alexander, Ryan Monroy and goaltender Kyle Merz were honored before the game for their years of hard work in the Governor Livingston ice hockey program.

“They really like to have a lot of fun at the rink,” Governor Livingston head coach Matt Anderson said. “They’re all very good athletes, very coachable. For four years now, they’ve worked up from one of the worst teams in the state to the point where they’re playing games against the best teams in the state.”
Some of the players reflected upon their careers at Governor Livingston High School, with the memories made over the years.
- “Just playing with my teammates. They’re all my friends. We have a close locker room, we’re all family. I just really enjoy playing with them.”-Brian Gray
- “This team has a lot of heart for four years, but this team in particular, we knew we were in a harder division. We needed that heart to succeed in another division, but this team has an unbelievable amount of heart and I’ll always remember it.” -Ryan Monroy
