LITTLE FALLS, NJ- Passaic Valley took on West Milford in the rain and muddy conditions and came away with a 12-6 win in a defensive battle. The Hornets picked off two Highlanders passes, both by Giovanni Giovatto, with one o them being returned for a touchdown, a Pick-6 returned 58 yards for the score.
Passaic Valley was led on the rushing game by Antwan Rogers, Jr. and Vincent Colletti, who came up with big plays and yard gains at crucial moments of the game. West Milford was stuffed at almost all angles of their offense, with their lone six points coming from an eight-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Zackary Milko to Kevin Schaffer with 2:49 left in the fourth quarter.
In addition to the two interceptions, the Passaic Valley also produced two fourth-down stops, including a crucial stop of Zackary Milko deep in Hornets territory after a lost fumble allowed the Highlanders to go from the Passaic Valley 12-yard line before Milford got stuffed two yards short of a conversion on the fourth-down attempt.
