Boys Basketball: Johnson Crusaders Ride Explosive Offense Past Roselle Park HS

CLARK, NJ- While the Arthur L. Johnson High School Crusaders were capitalizing on most of their offensive chances earlier on, senior George Visconti found himself in a slump. He scored only two points in the first quarter, but it would be his teammates who did the scoring before finding his rhythm and getting back to adding to his team’s lead on the night.

“I kind of let the game come to me today,” Visconti said. “I had a slow first quarter, but I saw my opportunities as the game progressed today.”

Visconti scored 14 of his 16 first half points in the second quarter. He ultimately finished the night with 27 points as the Crusaders stormed past the Roselle Park High School Panthers by a final score of 86-59 Tuesday night in Clark. It was a night where everybody did a little bit of offense to add to the dominant performance.

Johnson controlled the early offensive pace of the game, draining four three-point baskets in the first quarter as the Crusaders led the Panthers 21-13 after the first eight minutes of play.
