CLARK, NJ – How often do you see senior athletes achieve milestones on Senior Night games? Not very often, but on Friday night, Arthur L. Johnson High School senior Nick Fischetti did just that. Fischetti reached and surpassed the milestone of 1,000 career football rushing yards in the 28-14 win over North Plainfield HS on Senior Night.
A ten-yard rush early in the fourth quarter secured the milestone for the running back. In the game, Fischetti ran for 133 yards on 16 carries.
“It feels good but if I didn’t have my teammates, it wouldn’t be possible,” Fischetti said. “The offensive line pulls through every game. Basically, if my teammates didn’t pull through with me, then I wouldn’t be able to pull through the plays. They do their job and I do my job and that’s that. That is how you make big plays.”
Fischetti debuted on the Crusaders varsity roster as a sophomore in 2014. He ran for seven yards on one carry that year, but it was just the beginning. His workload saw a dramatic increase the following year.
