CLARK, NJ – The Arthur L. Johnson High School Crusaders varsity football team ran onto Nolan Field determined to put last week’s game at Roselle HS in the past and come out strong on a rainy and cool evening against the Delaware Valley HS Terriers. They had an explosive game on both sides of the ball and got the job done Friday night in Clark, winning by a final score of 39-12.
Johnson senior running back and co-captain Jon Duffy ran for 105 yards on seven carries and a two-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter to help his team get the win.
“In practice, we watched all the film, got down to things and realized we got to get down to the basics just like [Coach DelConte] said,” Duffy said. “That’s exactly what we did. We rebounded, one loss doesn’t define your season, but we’re happy it happened this early in the season, we’re going to keep winning.”
