BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ- The Arthur L. Johnson High School Crusaders varsity football team kicked off their 2018 season with a rare Week Zero game and a quest to get the season underway.
Throughout the afternoon, particularly in the second half, a series of mistakes left them susceptible to a loss. Adding to the challenge, a late touchdown pass from Governor Livingston senior quarterback Dylan Dwyer to senior Jake Faulkner with 2:49 left proved costly, as the Crusaders lost to the Highlanders 21-14 Thursday afternoon in Berkeley Heights.
Dwyer found Faulkner, who found a way through a few Johnson defenders and charged his way to the end zone for the game-winning score.
