Wysocki’s Go-Ahead Goal Powers Johnson Crusaders Field Hockey Past Hillsborough Raiders

The Crusaders had a chance to take the lead earlier on in the game, but Wysocki came up short on a penalty stroke shot. They put major pressure on Hillsborough, but couldn’t get the game’s first goal.

As the final minutes of half came around, it all changed. Johnson sophomore Emma Hilton put her team on the board with a goal at the 24:52-time mark of the first half, assisted by junior Alyssa Colicchio.

Johnson led Hillsborough at halftime by the score of 1-0.

The Raiders controlled the opening minutes of the second half and would cash in on a goal from sophomore Payton Altman at the 11:24-time mark of the second half. The goal, assisted by senior Allie Benadon, knotted up the score at 1-1.

A few minutes after the Crusaders allowed the game-tying goal, they completed a corner shot opportunity and Wysocki cashed in for her team to give them the lead they would hold on to for the rest of the game.
