Johnson Crusaders Girls Soccer Holds off Elizabeth Minutemen to Win Home Opener

CLARK, NJ- The Arthur L. Johnson High School Crusaders continued getting one scoring chance after another against their conference opponent, the Elizabeth High School Minutemen, but despite the constant possibilities, none of the shots reached the back of the net. Their chance to score finally came with an accidental assist from their opponents.

The ball bounced off the Elizabeth goaltender and began rolling towards the goal. Despite a chase towards the ball, it made it to the back of the net, putting Johnson ahead 1-0 at the 10:18-time mark of the second half. This was the only score of the game in the Crusader home opener.

Junior Natalya Torres received credit for the goal, assisted by junior Colleen Sullivan.
