ALJ Crusaders Girls Soccer Shut-out Jonathan Dayton, Extend Winning Season to 4-0


CLARK, NJ –  The Arthur L. Johnson High School girls soccer team extended their winning season on Saturday afternoon, shutting out the Jonathan Dayton (Kenilworth) Bulldogs at home, 7-0.  The Crusaders are 4-0 on the season.

Senior co-captain Deserae Sequeira led the Crusaders’ dominant effort with a hat trick. Two of the goals came in the first half, at 12:56 and 22:32. Her third came at 18:49 in the second half.

“I think our energy and effort was really strong. It was a home game and we came out strong and that was the most important thing. We couldn’t be flat and keep them [Dayton] rolling in.” -Johnson senior and co-captain Deserae Sequeira

Senior Tatiana Nieto added two goals of her own in the victory, both of them coming in the first half, one at 11:20 and the other at 18:27.
