BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ – Senior Anthony Caldiero delivered the game-tying goal and junior Will Kelly scored the game-winner with eight minutes left to cap off a comeback as the Arthur L. Johnson Crusaders held off the Gov. Livingston Highlanders by a final score of 2-1 Thursday afternoon in Berkeley Heights.
As the second half started, the Crusaders found themselves trailing Gov. Livingston, 1-0, and looking for the game-tying goal. Johnson kept setting up chances, but the Highlanders held them in check throughout the first 40 minutes of the game.
The Crusaders, looking to rebound from Tuesday’s 4-3 home opener loss to Cranford, continued pressure and broke through for the goals needed in a back-and-forth paced second half.
