Ice Hockey: Arthur L. Johnson Undefeated Streak Ends in 5-2 Loss to Governor Livingston

ROSELLE, NJ –  The Governor Livingston Highlanders ended the Arthur L. Johnson High School varsity hockey team’s undefeated season with a solid 5-2 win over the Crusaders Wednesday night at Warinanco Park. The Crusaders came into the night’s game with a 9-0-1 record, only tying Bayonne 3-3 on December 21.

It was quite a night for the Highlanders, as senior co-captain Danny Kramer recorded his 100th varsity career point in the game’s second period. He achieved the milestone with a power-play goal at 11:30 of the second period, assisted by sophomores Ryan Erickson and Zach Miller.

“It means everything,” Kramer said. “I couldn’t do it without my teammates along the way, my coaches, they helped me all through it and I can’t thank Erickson and Miller enough.”

“This is a huge win for us,” he added. “It puts us in the right direction and we’re just taking games one-by-one and we’re looking forward to Friday [against Brick Memorial HS].”
